These three vibrant, veggie-packed dips are as versatile as they are nutritious. Each one is made with organic ingredients and designed to suit everyone in the family. Serve as smooth baby purées, spread onto toast or wraps, or pop into lunchboxes as tasty dips for crackers and veggie sticks. 

ingredients

green pea dip

  • 1½ cups organic frozen peas (defrosted)
  • ½ cup Ceres Organics Cashews (soaked if possible)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 handful fresh basil
  • 1 handful baby spinach
  • 1 Tbsp Ceres Organics Hulled Tahini
  • 1 Tbsp Ceres Organics Olive Oil
  • juice of ½ a lemon
  • water to blend

butter bean beetroot dip & kumara kidney bean dip

  • 2 medium beetroots
  • 1 can butter beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 4 roasted garlic cloves
  • 4 Tbsp Ceres Organics Hulled Tahini
  • 1 Tbsp Ceres Organics Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 medium orange kumara (sweet potato)
  • 1 can Ceres Organics Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 2 tsp Ceres Organics Ground Turmeric (optional)
  • 1 handful fresh coriander (for garnishing)
  • Salt & pepper to taste (omit salt for babies)

method

  1. Green Pea Dip: Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, adding water to adjust consistency as needed.
  2. Butter Bean Beetroot Dip: Roast beetroot whole at 180°C for 60 minutes and x2 cloves of garlic for 20 minutes. Let cool, peel, and chop. Add beetroot, garlic, butter beans, x2 Tbsp of tahini, x1 Tbsp of olive oil, 1 tsp of cumin, juice of x1 lemon to a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Kumara Kidney Bean Dip: Roast kumara whole at 180°C for 40 minutes and x2 cloves of garlic for 20 minutes. Let cool, peel, and chop. Add kumara, garlic, kidney beans, x2 Tbsp of tahini, x1 Tbsp cumin, juice of x1 lemon and turmeric (optional) to a blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Tips: Omit salt and adjust lemon and tahini levels to suit babies under one. Freeze in small portions for quick, healthy meals or snacks. Serve with toast, crackers, veggie sticks, or in wraps and sandwiches.
